Here you will find a bit of info on my commissioned work for character art and illustration, along with rates* and examples. At the end of the page you will find information about the process I work with and also a FAQ with the answers to a few common questions, but please, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions!
Note that these rates are baselines and may be subject to change depending on the complexity of the artwork requested. These rates are for personal work only, contact me for commercial work info. *All prices are in USD.

Character Art

Stylised for a quicker and more economic character depiction!

Great for depicting the main features of your character through a portrait, half body or full body stylised illustration. For these type of commission, the focus is on the character and what is important to them. Accessories, pets, setting, magic, you name it!

All character commissions come with a flat colour and a texturised simple background.

For character commissions, after we discuss all the details of the commission, we'll start with two rough drafts (one for token/portrait commissions) and you will be able to choose which composition you like best and we can move on to base lines and final adjustments before the start of the painting process.

Process

Step 1. Sketch

Here I'll create a few pose variations for you to chooose from.

*The quantity of sketches you'll receive varies by the type of commision.

Step 2. Lineart

After we've decided on the sketch, I'll refine it and prepare the linework for colouring and shading.

Step 3. Colouring

With everything prepared, I'll begin colouring and shading the commission until it is complete!

Illustration

Character art that tells a story!

A fully rendered complex illustration created with a storytelling perspective.

If you are looking for a scene with many complexities, or a depiction of the epic finale to a D&D campaign as your heroes face off against Tiamat, this is the one!

All character illustration commissions come with a fully painted background.

For character commissions, after we discuss all the details of the commission, we'll start with two rough drafts (three for full-body/group commissions) and you will be able to choose which composition you like best and we can move on to base lines and final adjustments before the start of the painting process.

Portrait Speedpaint

A quick and expressive portrait!

*For speedpaint commissions, you won't get a sketch, but a painted portrait right away, created according to the description you provided, to this finished portrait we can make minor alterations if needed.

Half-body

*The quantity of composition tests varies by the type of the commision.

Step 2. Refined Sketch

After we've decided on a composition, I'll prepare the sketch for painting, adding a few details, and will also create a few colour scheme variations for comparison.

Step 3. Painting

With everything prepared, I'll begin painting the commission until it is complete!

Stickers & Emotes

Need I say more?

What a better way to show off your characters' personalities than through a batch of cute emotes? These also work as cute gift for your special other too! And you can print them at your favourite print shop and start decorating all your office apparel with them!

All sticker commissions final files come with a borderless transparent background version with shading, a version with a white border and a display version with a flat-coloured background.

Cartography

Everything you need for your worldbuilding!

Great for depicting a region, continent or fantasy world. Be it for your novel, game or RPG campaign. Intricate regional maps or expansive maps focused on the frontiers of warring nations, colourful biomes or great cities, proudly displaying their crests? Your imagination is the limit!

For cartography commissions, after we discuss all the details of the commission, we'll start with two rough drafts (three for complex map commissions). These drafts will be focused on one small region of your map, so we can test for style and colour scheme, then you will be able to choose which composition you like best and we can move on to base lines and final adjustments before the start of the painting process.

Step 1. Style Tests

Here I'll take a section of the map and work on some tests for colour and style, which will then be the base for the finished map.

*The quantity of style tests varies by the type of map commisioned

Step 2. Linework

After we've decided on a style, I'll prepare the entire map for the painting stage through linework.

Step 3. Painting

With everything prepared, I'll begin painting the entire map until it is complete!

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a brief overview of the kind of license you can get for your artwork, contact me so we can discuss this further.

Personal use: This is an artwork that will not be used for any commercial purposes, so it may be printed and shared with your friends or D&D party, given as a gift, or hung on the wall of your home!

Example: A full body character art commission with a detailed background will cost $300USD

Commercial use: These are pieces that will be used with intentional monetary compensation or commercial advantage in mind. Which can mean publications that are sold, images that will be used in TV shows and movies, book covers, in sum, everything that promotes revenue is commercial work.

I maintain ownership of the artwork for my own personal use and to display it on my portfolio and social media.

I charge 50% over the full rate of the commission for this kind of license.

Example: Under this license, a full body character art commission with a detailed background will cost $450USD

Exclusive rights: Also known as "work-for-hire", this license grants the full ownership of the artwork to the client. These are pieces that have not only its right of use transferred to the client, as in a commercial license, but also all associated rights, making it possible for the client to sell and transfer the copyright of the artwork as they wish.

In this case, I don't maintain any ownership of the artwork, and only the client is allowed to display it.

I charge 100% over the full rate of the commission for this kind of license.

Example: Under this license, a full body character art commission with a detailed background will cost $600USD

The time of completion of a give commission may vary, but I always give a deadline before we begin, and this is how my process usually works regarding time.

*I always send two weekly project updates until completion so you will be able to give as much feedback as needed!

Initial thumbnail sketches - 3 business days from receiving the first payment

Refined sketch - two weeks from the start of the project for the refined sketch Painting - two weeks is the usual time I take to refine a piece depending of course, on complexity and extra details Final art - one week for the final adjustments and reviews That makes the turnaround time for a piece roughly 5 weeks, but that may vary depending on the project, my commission queue and the time we take to discuss the project before starting. I'll always let you know the expected deadline before we begin working on the project.

Extras are additions to the painting such as a second character on a character focused illustration, a pet or mount or even armour with very complex designs or detailed markings on the character.

As a base line, I work with the following guide for pricing extras. These are calculated over the base price of the commission and are indicated in each relevant section.

Example: You want a character commission that costs $150, and wish to add an extra character, the extra character would cost 150*0,8=120, thus the total price of the commission for the two characters would be $270
